Gov. Walz declares today, March 6, Clean Energy Business Day

Clean energy business leaders celebrate ninth-annual Clean Energy Business Day at the Capitol

ST. PAUL, MN — Today, March 6, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz declared it Clean Energy Business Day. The ninth-annual Clean Energy Business Day (CEBD) program will begin at the Minnesota State Capitol rotunda at 11 a.m. with speakers including government officials and business leaders.

This event, hosted by a coalition of leading clean energy organizations, will bring together businesses, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the state and include remarks from several legislative leaders. Following an abrupt change in the federal landscape, energy leaders will discuss the state’s vital role in the implementation of energy efficiency and clean energy policies and technologies.

“Minnesota has been at the forefront of the clean energy transition, and with uncertainty at the federal level, state leadership is more critical now than ever,” said Gregg Mast, executive director of Clean Energy Economy MN (CEEM). “Today, over 62,000 Minnesotans work in clean energy. To accelerate job growth, our industry needs stable and predictable policies. Working together with policymakers on both sides of the aisle to harness Minnesota’s abundant clean and renewable resources will ensure a reliable, affordable, and resilient energy system while solidifying the state’s position as a global clean energy leader.”

“Strong state-level energy policy is more important than ever before,” said Logan O’Grady, executive director of the Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association (MnSEIA). “Minnesota has become a leader in the clean energy space, and we cannot afford to lose momentum now. Investments in clean energy policies and programs will increase grid reliability, lower energy prices, create more family-sustaining jobs, and result in better outcomes for all Minnesotans.”
