MnSEIA’s Gateway To Solar Conference Returns In-Person For Its 8th Year

St. Paul, MN— The Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association (MnSEIA) is excited to host their 8th annual Gateway to Solar Conference on October 18-19, 2021 at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This two day event brings in solar practitioners from across the country for in-depth education with keynotes and industry experts and includes an Awards Luncheon, fun off-site events, and the opportunity for quality networking in a relaxed forum. After months of Zoom meetings and a virtual conference last year, MnSEIA and our attendees are excited to get back to in-person networking and business!

This is the first year MnSEIA’s new Executive Director Logan O’Grady will lead MnSEIA’s annual conference. “After attending the Gateway to Solar conference for many years, I’m thrilled to have a greater role in the event this year and to work with our amazing speakers and sponsors. This year’s conference has some of our best sessions yet. From energy storage, to updates on the Solar on Schools program, to solar panel recycling, there’s something for everyone. We’re excited to welcome everyone back safely and return to face-to-face business. Remember to get vaccinated before you come and wear a mask!

Conference sessions include a variety of topics about the future of the Minnesota solar and energy storage industry, improving diversity and inclusion in solar, “future proofing” the state’s grid, and much more.

The four featured keynotes at this year’s conference include:

  • “Overseeing the Reliable Operation of the North American Bulk Power System”
  • “How Can We Improve Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in the Solar Industry?”
  • “How FERC Orders 841 & 2222 Will Impact the Minnesota Storage and Distributed Energy Markers”
  • “An Interactive Discussion with Members of Minnesota’s State Legislature”

MnSEIA is excited to welcome experts from across the solar industry to speak at the conference as well as many members of the Minnesota State Legislature. Representatives Todd Lippert, Patty Acomb, Jamie Long and Senators David Senjem and Jason Rarick are featured speakers at Gateway to Solar and Senator Karin Housley and Representative Patty Acomb are both being honored with an award. Multiple Minnesota state agencies and the Public Utilities Commission will also be represented.

MnSEIA is grateful for the support of our sponsors who help make this conference possible, including the 2021 Gigawatt Sponsors, Blue Horizon Energy and Greenpenny!

To keep attendees safe, COVID protocols have been implemented for the conference. All attendees will be required to show their COVID-19 vaccine card or a negative COVID test from no more than 72 hours prior to arrival. Masks must also be worn throughout the conference hall. MnSEIA is excited to welcome everyone back in-person while taking the proper precautions to keep attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff safe.
